Simple Skin Care Tips During Winter

The winter makes our skin dry and gives a miserable look. So, proper care should be taken to maintain the skin during winter. There are simple ways by which we could keep our skin normal. The natural home remedies would help a lot to save our skin and hair from extreme cold.


In winter, by drinking plenty of water, the moisture content in the skin would be maintained properly. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables would also serve the purpose. We need not fear about winter. We need not fight against winter. In winter, we used to get fresh vegetables and fruits in large quantity. We could prepare various mouth watering dishes and could eat well. We could drink soups and eat hot and spicy food. The food should be rich in garlic and ginger. The citrus fruits help very much in winter season.


We should not take bath in hot water. The water should be warm, as overheat makes the skin dry. Before taking bath we have to apply coconut oil to the skin. Instead of using bath soap, we could try green gram powder for bathing. The skin pores should be open to absorb moisture and dead cells should be removed. So, exfoliation of skin is essential. The butter could be applied to lips to prevent from dryness. The mixture of tomato juice, honey, carrot juice and lemon should be applied to the face, neck and arms. We could wash it with warm water after half an hour and get a glittering skin. The oil based moisturizer is needed for hair care in winter.


We could fix humidifiers to raise moisture. We could use room conditioner to maintain room temperature. When we have to move out of house, we have to cover all the visible parts to prevent from attack of bitter cold. The moisturizing cream could be used for face, arms and legs. We could use woolen gloves to cover our hands, while at home as well as while going out. We have to cover our head with scarf or hat.


The dressing in winter is most important. The inner wear next to skin should be loose. Then we could cover it by one or two woolen, winter clothes or thermal wear. The soft, warm cloth next to skin should serve as an insulation to prevent the attack of cold wind. At home, while sleeping we could use quilt and woolen beds. The bed should be warm.


The elderly people, children and patients suffer a lot during winter. The hypothermia and frostbite occur due to over exposure to cold. We have to take treatment. The prevention is better than cure. By staying warm and limiting exposure to severe cold could help us.
